Biography

Attorney Kilmurray currently focuses her practice on all aspects of family law, including child support, divorce, child custody, modifications and contempt actions. Additionally, she handles criminal defense matters and restraining order and harassment order hearings. As a well established litigator, Attorney Kilmurray has extensive experience in dealing with high conflict matters surrounding domestic abuse, sexual assault, allegations of substance abuse, and matters involving the Department of Children and Families. With her background in criminal law, particularly working with children and families, the conversion to family law was a natural transition.

Known as a passionate advocate for clients, Attorney Kilmurray is adept at assisting individuals through all phases of some of the most difficult chapters of their lives, breaking down each step to enable a more manageable approach to overwhelming legal proceedings. She has appeared, negotiated, and tried cases in courts throughout Massachusetts, overseeing cases from the beginning to a resolution. With more than 100 trials at both the District and Superior Court levels while working as an Assistant District Attorney, she is a respected litigator who addresses evolving scenarios and offers creative and realistic solutions to obtain favorable results.

As an avid reader and life-long learner, Attorney Kilmurray enjoys learning about new case law and rules that affect the day-to-day operations within the court system. Alyssa has been a presenter and educator on various panels and conferences throughout her career, speaking to varied audiences ranging from law enforcement to colleagues, to social workers and to law school students.

Outside of the courtroom, Attorney Kilmurray enjoys traveling internationally with her husband, watching baseball games at ballparks around the country, and spending time with their clan of rescue dogs and cats.
